What does this fault code mean?
The fuel level signal is too low. The electrical fault code is set in the rear electronic module (REM) or in the central electronic module (CEM), and at the same time in the engine control module. The fault therefore lies in another module.
Possible causes
- Fault in the rear electronic module (REM), which should be troubleshot first
- Fault in the central electronic module (CEM), which should be troubleshot
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop read the fault codes in the REM and the CEM and remedy them first
- 2Do not clear the code in the engine control module until the root fault in the REM or CEM has been remedied
- 3Check the connector to the fuel level sensor for loose fit or oxidation
- 4Have you got a diagnostic tool: check in live data that the fuel level is reasonable for how full the tank is
- 5Have a workshop replace the fuel level sensor if it is damaged and the fault remains after the repairs
Symptoms you may notice1
- Fuel gauge shows a value that is too low
