What does this fault code mean?
The vehicle speed data from the ABS system is faulty. The brake control module (BCM) has registered the fault and sent a fault message to the engine control module, which stores the code. It is a follow-on of the brake-system fault, and troubleshooting takes place there.
Possible causes
- A fault code is stored in the ABS control module
- Fault in the brake control module (BCM) that should be troubleshot
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault codes in the ABS unit first and remedy them
- 2Read off the fault codes in the brake control module (BCM) and remedy them, then erase the code in the engine control module
- 3Since the fault concerns ABS and the braking system, have a workshop check the braking system before you drive if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice2
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
- Cruise control does not work at all
What the fault can affect2
- Cruise control is switched off
- Speed data from the gearbox control module takes over instead
