What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) has registered a fault in the speed signal and sent a fault message to the engine control module, which stores the code. It is a follow-on, so troubleshooting is done in the brake control module, and cruise control does not work in the meantime.
Possible causes
- Fault in the brake control module (BCM) that should be troubleshot first
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault codes in the brake control module (BCM) first and remedy them
- 2Erase the code in the engine control module only once the fault in the brake control module is remedied and erased
- 3Since the fault concerns speed data from the brake control module, have a workshop check the braking system before you drive if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- Cruise control does not work at all
What the fault can affect2
- Cruise control is switched off
- With an automatic gearbox, the speed is taken from the gearbox instead
