The transmission control module (TCM) has asked the engine control module to save frozen values, and the code is set then. The fault therefore lies in the transmission control module, which should be troubleshot first.

What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the gearbox control module (TCM) first, then remedy them
- 2Once the TCM faults are remedied and erased, this code can be erased in the engine control module
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: see which fault codes are stored in the transmission control module, so you know which fault to remedy first
- 4Have a workshop examine the transmission control module if the fault codes cannot be remedied
