What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has registered that the transmission control module (TCM) has asked for frozen values to be saved, and the code is set then. The signal that concerns the warning lamp is therefore missing in the engine control module.
Possible causes
- Fault in the transmission control module (TCM), which should be troubleshot first
What you can do
- 1Troubleshoot the transmission control module (TCM) first: read off its fault codes and remedy them
- 2The code in the engine control module cannot be erased until the TCM fault is erased, so erase it last
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: check which codes are held in the transmission control module to see where the problem is
- 4Have a workshop examine the transmission control module if its fault codes cannot be remedied
Symptoms you may notice1
- Symptoms depend on which fault is held in the gearbox module
