What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) reports that the vehicle speed signal is missing, and the code is stored. The code is set first in the central electronics module (CEM), so the fault may lie there as well as in the engine module. The environment lamp comes on, but the fault has no noticeable effect.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read and note the codes in the central electronics module (CEM) first
- 2Fix the faults in the CEM. The engine module's code can only be cleared once those are repaired and cleared
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, compare the vehicle speed value in live data with the speedometer during a test drive
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the engine control module and load new software or replace it
Symptoms you may notice1
- The environment lamp lights up
