What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has registered a reading from the oil level sensor outside its reasonable operating range, and the code is stored. The cause may be a very low oil level or a damaged sensor. The oil pressure lamp may light up or behave abnormally.

- Damaged oil level sensor
What you can do
- 1Check the oil level with the dipstick and top it up to the correct level if it is too low
- 2Look for oil leaks on the engine, since the oil may have been lost
- 3See whether the oil appears contaminated with fuel or coolant; if so, have a workshop check the engine
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the oil level value in live data with the engine running and compare it with the dipstick
- 5If the fault remains with the level correct, have a workshop try a new oil level sensor
