What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has detected a fault in the reading coming from the transmission control module (TCM), and the code is stored. The accelerator pedal responds poorly, and engine torque is limited to a calculated reasonable value. The cause may lie in the CAN communication or in the transmission module.
Possible causes
- Faulty CAN communication
- The fault lies in the transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read and note the codes in the transmission control module (TCM) first
- 2Then read the CAN-related codes in the CEM and fix the faults there
- 3Check that the connectors on the CAN network are fully seated and free from oxidation
- 4Clear the code only once the causes are fixed, then road test
Symptoms you may notice3
- The accelerator pedal responds poorly
- A message is shown in the text display
- The environment lamp lights up
What the fault can affect1
- Requested engine torque is limited to a calculated reasonable value
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
