What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) receives a CAN signal from the transmission control module (TCM) telling it to light the environment lamp. If that signal is missing or faulty, the code is set. The accelerator pedal may then respond poorly, and engine torque is limited.
Possible causes
- Faulty CAN communication
- The fault lies in the transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the connectors on the CAN network are fully seated and free from oxidation
- 2Read and fix the codes in the transmission control module (TCM) first
- 3Then read the CAN-related codes in the CEM
- 4Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
Symptoms you may notice2
- The accelerator pedal responds poorly
- A message is shown in the text display
What the fault can affect1
- Requested engine torque is limited to a calculated reasonable value
