What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has detected a break in the signal cable to the reset valve for the intake camshaft, and the code is set. The valve controls the position of the intake camshaft.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal cable
- Open circuit in the power cable
- Damaged camshaft reset valve
What you can do
- 1Check the fuse that feeds the reset valve, especially if the engine is hard to start
- 2If the fuse is blown, use a multimeter to check that the circuit is not short-circuited to ground
- 3Check that the connector at the camshaft reset valve is firmly seated and free from contact resistance and oxidation
- 4Clear the code and start the engine to see whether it returns
- 5If you find no fault, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the reset valve and the cable to it
