What does this fault code mean?
When fuel is cut off, for example during engine braking, the engine control module (ECM) changes the control of the AACV. The air flow should then change. If it does not, because the valve is stuck, the code is set.
Possible causes
- Sticking AACV
- Blocked AACV or hose
- Defective AACV
What you can do
- 1With a diagnostic tool: activate the AACV and see whether it responds
- 2Check that the hose to the AACV is not blocked by dirt or damaged
- 3Check the fuse for the AACV circuit
- 4Clear the code and drive the car to see whether it returns
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check or replace the AACV
Symptoms you may notice2
- Idle speed is low
- Idle speed hunts up and down
