What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns an internal fault in the electric cooling fan, which the engine control module (ECM) registers. The control module interprets it as the signal from the fan being too low.
Possible causes
- Damaged electric cooling fan
What you can do
- 1Look at the cooling fan to see whether the blades are damaged, bent or sitting at an angle
- 2Check the fuse for the electric cooling fan circuit
- 3Check that the earth lead to the fan is secure
- 4With a diagnostic tool: activate the cooling fan at every speed step and listen for it to run
- 5If the fan does not work, have a workshop replace it
