What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) is missing a signal on the control circuit for the cooling fan. The cause may be a break in the signal cable or a damaged cooling fan control module.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal cable
- Damaged cooling fan control module
What you can do
- 1Check the fuse for the cooling fan circuit
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal cable is not short-circuited to ground
- 3Check that the signal cable is not broken, particularly at the connectors and where it runs along the body
- 4With a diagnostic tool: activate the cooling fan with the ignition on and check that it starts
- 5If you find no fault in the wiring, have a workshop check the cooling fan control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- The electric cooling fan does not work
