What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module checks the signal to the solenoid valve that controls the engine mounts and records the fault code if the signal is incorrect. The valve controls how the engine mounts work, so a fault in the signal means the control is not right.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Damaged solenoid valve
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Faulty power supply
- Signal missing because of an open circuit in the signal wire
What you can do
- 1Check that the connector to the solenoid valve is secure and clean, and that the cable has no chafing
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the engine mount solenoid valve and listen for a click from the valve
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not shorted to ground or supply voltage
- 4Repair any damaged cable or connector, and replace the solenoid valve if it does not click when activated
