What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module controls the glow plug lamp through CAN communication with the instrument panel. The fault code is stored when the module finds an irregularity in what it sends to the glow plug lamp. A communication fault on the CAN network can also cause the code, and it can also be set in the central electronic module.
Possible causes
- Faulty communication on the CAN network
- Fault in the instrument panel (DIM)
- Signal to the glow plug lamp is missing or faulty
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool: first read the fault codes in the central electronic module and in other control modules
- 2Fix the faults in the other control modules first, since this code may have arisen as a result of them
- 3Clear this fault code only after the faults in the other control modules have been fixed and cleared
- 4Have a workshop check the CAN network and the instrument panel if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- A message appears in the information display
What the fault can affect1
- The glow plug lamp is switched off
