What does this fault code mean?
The fault code belongs to glow plug 2. It is set when the engine control module does not receive the correct signal from the circuit for that particular glow plug. This may be due to contact problems, an open wire or a faulty relay.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Damaged glow plug relay
What you can do
- 1Check that the connections to glow plug 2 are secure and have no play
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire between the relay and glow plug 2 has no open circuit
- 3Clean the contacts if they are oxidised, and check the contact faces
- 4Have a workshop measure the resistance of glow plug 2 to rule out damage
- 5Replace the glow plug relay if the wiring is sound but the fault remains
