What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module monitors glow plug 4 through the glow plug relay and stores the fault code when it finds a fault there. The cause may be poor contact in the connectors, an open signal wire or a damaged glow plug relay.
Possible causes
- Poor contact or oxidation in the connectors
- Open signal wire
- The glow plug relay is damaged
What you can do
- 1Check that the connections and wiring at glow plug 4 are secure, with no play
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire to glow plug 4 is intact with no open circuit
- 3Look for oxidation in the connectors and clean them
- 4Replace the glow plug relay if the connectors and wiring are in order but the fault remains
