What does this fault code mean?
The fault code applies to the control signal to the vacuum valve for the engine mounts. It is stored when the signal is too high or too low. When the signal is too low, the wire may be shorted to ground or have an open circuit.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Defective vacuum valve
- Faulty power supply
What you can do
- 1Check the connector at the vacuum valve for contact resistance and oxidation, and clean it if needed
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the vacuum valve has no open circuit and is not shorted to ground
- 3Look for chafing or pinched spots on the wire
- 4Replace the vacuum valve if the connector and wire are in order but the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice2
- Vibrations at idle
- The engine mounts bottom out when accelerating or when the throttle is released
