What does this fault code mean?
The fault is permanent, which means it is present right now. The engine control module has found a fault in the circuit to the turbocharger control valve and stores the fault code. Although the code indicates a signal that is too high, the circuit may also be shorted to ground or have an open circuit.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Defective turbocharger control valve
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Open circuit in the voltage supply wire
What you can do
- 1Check the wiring to the turbocharger control valve for chafing, loose connectors and damage
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not shorted to supply voltage or ground and has no open circuit
- 3Also check that the supply wire to the valve is intact
- 4Replace the turbocharger control valve if the wiring is in order but the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- The malfunction indicator lamp is lit
