What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) measures its own temperature with a sensor inside it. If that sensor circuit gives a fault with the ignition on, the code is set. The cause is a damaged control module, and nothing is noticeable to the driver.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car
- 2If the fault returns after the road test, have a workshop replace the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
