What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors its own internal function. If it registers an internal communication fault within itself, the code is set with the ignition on. The cause is a damaged engine control module.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition on and wait a while before reading the status of the code, so the diagnosis can run
- 2Check that the fault is no longer active once the check is complete
- 3If the fault returns, have a workshop replace the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
