What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the supply voltage to its internal components. If it is incorrect with the ignition on, the code is set. The cause may be a fault in the charging system or a damaged engine control module.
Possible causes
- Fault in the charging system
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the battery terminals are clean and tight, and that the charging works
- 2Read the code after switching the ignition on and waiting a short while; check that it is no longer active after the test
- 3If the fault remains, have a workshop check the charging system and the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
