What does this fault code mean?
The internal monitoring of the engine control module has registered a faulty internal function. The cause may be a software error or an internal fault in the module. The fault applies among others to the S60 (-09), V70 (00-08) and XC90.

What you can do
- 1Any other codes logged in the ECM should be traced and remedied first
- 2Have a workshop check that the engine control module has the latest software, and download it if needed
- 3Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the engine control module and program it
