What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module checks how the system relay works. The fault code is set when the voltage from the relay is too low while the relay is activated, which may be due to contact resistance in the connections, a break in the signal wire or a damaged relay. The engine will not start.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Open circuit in the signal wire to the system relay
- Damaged system relay
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check the connectors to the engine control module and to the system relay for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Inspect the signal wire to the system relay for breaks and chafing
- 4If no fault is found in these checks, have a workshop try a new system relay
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine does not start
