What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module registers that the voltage on the system relay signal wire is too low, and the fault code is set. This may be caused by a break in the signal wire or a damaged system relay, and the engine then does not start.
Possible causes
- Break in the signal wire
- Damaged system relay
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check the signal wire to the system relay for breaks and loose connectors
- 3Using a multimeter, check that the signal wire is continuous from one end to the other
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the voltage on the system relay signal wire with the ignition on and see whether it rises when the ignition is switched on
- 5If no fault is found, have a workshop fit a new system relay to test
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine does not start
