What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the brake pedal sensor and stop lamp switch while the engine runs. The code is set as a consequence of a fault in the brake control module (BCM), so that fault must be fixed first. This code can be cleared only after the code in the brake control module has been fixed and erased.
Possible causes
- A fault in the brake control module (BCM) or the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Read the codes stored in the BCM and the CEM first
- 2Fix the faults there and erase them; only then can this code be cleared
- 3Do not work on the brake system yourself; if the fault does not go away, have a workshop carry out the brake-related checks
Symptoms you may notice1
- Cruise control does not work at all
What the fault can affect1
- Cruise control is switched off
