What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) receives the brake pedal sensor signal over the CAN network from the brake control module (BCM). The code is set if that signal is faulty or if the CAN communication has a fault. It is a consequence of a fault in the brake control module, so that fault should be fixed first and the code cleared afterwards.
Possible causes
- Fault in the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the BCM first and remedy them
- 2Clear this code only after the code in the brake control module has been remedied and erased
- 3The brake system is safety-critical; if the fault remains after checking the brake control module, have a workshop take over the fault finding on the brake circuit
Symptoms you may notice1
- Cruise control does not work at all
What the fault can affect1
- Cruise control is switched off
