What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) receives no valid brake pedal signal over the CAN network from the brake control module (BCM), and the code is set. The cause lies in the brake control module, so this code is a consequence of that fault. Fix the BCM fault first; this code can be cleared only once the fault in the brake control module has been fixed and erased.
Possible causes
- The cause lies in the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the BCM and trace those first
- 2Clear this code only after the code in the brake control module has been fixed and erased
- 3Because the fault concerns the brake system, have a workshop take over if the brake control module check finds nothing
Symptoms you may notice1
- Cruise control does not work at all
What the fault can affect1
- Cruise control is switched off
