What does this fault code mean?
The ECM has registered that the brake pedal sensor signal, sent over the CAN network from the brake control module (BCM), is too low, or that the CAN communication has a fault. The code is a follow-on fault that is first set in the brake control module. Fault finding should therefore be done there, and this code can be cleared once the fault in the brake control module has been fixed.
Possible causes
- The cause lies in the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the BCM first, and trace and fix them
- 2Clear this code only after the code in the brake control module has been fixed and erased
- 3If the fault cannot be found in the brake control module, have a workshop continue the fault finding; the brake system is safety-critical
Symptoms you may notice1
- Cruise control does not work at all
What the fault can affect1
- Cruise control is switched off
