What does this fault code mean?
This code is never set on its own. It is stored when the engine control module, at ignition on, registers that one of the throttle unit position sensor codes, ECM-9150 or ECM-9160, is stored. Fault finding is therefore done on those other codes, and this one shows that the fault is in the sensor circuit.
Possible causes
- Fault in the throttle position sensor circuit of the throttle unit
What you can do
- 1Read the ECM-9150 and ECM-9160 codes first and trace them, since this code is set together with them
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment, read the throttle position sensor value in live data while pressing and releasing the accelerator pedal and see that it changes smoothly
- 3Clear the codes once the fault has been fixed and check whether they return
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop trace the throttle position sensor of the throttle unit
Symptoms you may notice1
- The malfunction indicator light is on
