What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) carries out an adaptation of the throttle position in the throttle unit. If the adaptive limit values for the throttle are incorrect, the code is set. The cause can be an interrupted adaptation, a throttle that sticks or has jammed, or a damaged throttle unit.
Possible causes
- The adaptation was interrupted
- The throttle in the throttle unit sticks or has jammed
- Damaged throttle unit
What you can do
- 1Check the connector at the throttle unit for play, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Check that the throttle is not blocked and has not stuck
- 3Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment carry out the adaptation of the throttle unit again, so that the adaptation values are updated
- 4If the fault returns after the adaptation, the throttle unit may be damaged and a workshop should check it
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
