What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) learns the throttle position in the throttle unit through an adaptation. If the learned limit values for the throttle are incorrect, the code is set. The fault can come from an interrupted adaptation, a sticking throttle, or a damaged throttle unit.
Possible causes
- The adaptation was interrupted
- The throttle in the throttle unit sticks or has jammed
- Damaged throttle unit
What you can do
- 1Check the connector at the throttle unit for play, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Check that the throttle is not blocked or stuck, and clean it if necessary
- 3Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment carry out the adaptation of the throttle unit, so that the adaptation values are updated
- 4Erase the fault code and check after a test drive that it does not return
Symptoms you may notice1
- The car lacks power
