What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) compares the signals from the throttle unit position sensors with the stored value. If the offset from the stored value is unreasonably large, or the adaptive limit values for the throttle are incorrect, the code is set. The cause can be a sticking or jammed throttle, or a damaged throttle unit.
Possible causes
- The throttle in the throttle unit sticks or has jammed
- Damaged throttle unit
What you can do
- 1Check the connector at the throttle unit for play, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Check that the throttle is not blocked and has not stuck, and clean it if necessary
- 3Erase the fault code and test drive. If it returns, have a workshop check the throttle unit and carry out the adaptation
Symptoms you may notice1
- The car's performance is reduced
What the fault can affect1
- Engine torque is limited
