What does this fault code mean?
The ECM works out which gear is in use from engine speed and vehicle speed. The code concerns the clutch pedal sensor signal, and it can be set together with other fault codes.
Possible causes
- Damaged clutch pedal sensor
- Clutch pedal position sensor incorrectly fitted
What you can do
- 1Read the fault status with a diagnostic tool, and check whether the ECM has stored other codes for the clutch pedal sensor. If ECM-9300 is stored, deal with that code first
- 2Frozen values and the counter show whether the faults were stored together, and how intermittent the fault is
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: compare the clutch pedal sensor value in live data with the pedal released and with the pedal pressed down. The difference should be clear
- 4Check how the clutch pedal sensor is fitted and that it works
- 5After remedying: switch the ignition off for three minutes, switch it on and off again, and wait a further three minutes. If the electric cooling fan runs, wait two minutes more
Symptoms you may notice2
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lights
- Switch to gas drive is not possible
What the fault can affect2
- Cruise control is off for the driving cycle in which the fault was detected
- It works again at the next start if the fault is no longer present
