What does this fault code mean?
The ECM has detected a fault within its own hardware, and the code is set at that point. The cause is a damaged ECM.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code and clear it, then drive the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are in the handbook or on the fuse box cover
- 3If the code comes back, the engine control module is probably damaged and needs replacing. Replacement and programming are done by a workshop
