What does this fault code mean?
The ECM receives a fault message over CAN from the central electronic module (CEM). The message concerns either the analog accelerator pedal sensor signal or the CAN communication. The code is stored in the ECM, and fault tracing starts in the CEM.
Possible causes
- Fault in the central electronic module (CEM), where fault tracing starts
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the CEM first and deal with them. This code cannot be cleared until the CEM code has gone
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the accelerator pedal value in live data with the engine running, while the pedal is pressed slowly and released
- 3If the code comes back once the CEM fault is remedied, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment fault-trace further
- 4The accelerator pedal can stop working when the brake is pressed. Do not drive with a fault in throttle response, and have a workshop check it at once
Symptoms you may notice2
- Poor accelerator pedal response
- Cruise control does not function at all
What the fault can affect1
- The accelerator pedal does not work when the brake pedal is pressed
