What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is titled signal too high, it concerns a message from the CEM about the accelerator pedal sensor's analog signal or about CAN communication. The ECM receives the message and sets the code, while the fault tracing is done in the CEM.
Possible causes
- The cause is sought in the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Read and deal first with the CEM fault codes, as this code cannot be cleared before then
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the accelerator pedal value in live data with the engine running, while the pedal is pressed slowly and released
- 3If the fault remains once the CEM is remedied, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment decide where the fault sits
- 4The accelerator pedal can stop working when the brake is pressed, which is a safety matter. Have a workshop check it at once
Symptoms you may notice2
- Poor accelerator pedal response
- Cruise control does not function at all
What the fault can affect1
- The accelerator pedal stops working when the brake is pressed
