What does this fault code mean?
The accelerator pedal position sensor is faulty. The ECM then uses the lower of the PWM signal and the analog signal, which can show as poor accelerator response. The cause is a defective accelerator pedal position sensor.
Possible causes
- Defective accelerator pedal position sensor
What you can do
- 1Check the accelerator pedal position sensor and ECM connectors for contact resistance, play and oxidation
- 2With a diagnostic tool, read the accelerator signals with the ignition on. Values should be low when the pedal is untouched and high when fully pressed
- 3Check that the connectors are properly mated and free from water and corrosion
- 4If the signal still shows a fault, have a workshop replace the accelerator pedal position sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor accelerator pedal response
What the fault can affect1
- The lower of the PWM signal and the analog signal is used
