What does this fault code mean?
The ECM checks the base frequency of the pedal sensor's PWM signal. If it deviates from the predefined values, the code is set. The code gives no noticeable symptoms for the driver.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections between the engine control module and the pedal sensor
- Signal wire open, or shorted to ground or to supply voltage
- Damaged accelerator pedal position sensor
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, inspect the connectors on the pedal sensor and the engine control module for contact resistance and oxidation
- 2With a multimeter, check that the signal wire from the pedal sensor has no open circuit and is not touching ground or supply voltage
- 3If there is no fault in the connectors or wiring and the fault is permanent, the pedal sensor may need replacing, which a workshop should do
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
