What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the base frequency of the digital PWM signal from the pedal sensor. If it deviates from the preset values, the code is set. The fault appears as a missing signal, and the driver notices no symptoms.
Possible causes
- Oxidised contacts or added resistance between the pedal sensor and the ECM
- Signal wire open, or shorted to ground or supply voltage
- Damaged accelerator pedal position sensor
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check the connectors between the pedal sensor and the ECM for contact resistance and oxidation
- 2With a multimeter, check that the signal wire is intact and not shorted to ground or supply voltage
- 3If no cause is found in the connectors or wiring, the pedal sensor may need replacing, which is a workshop task
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
