What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has registered an internal fault, which shows that the calculated load signal is lower than the internal monitoring has worked out. The code is set while the engine runs above a certain speed.
Possible causes
- Blocked exhaust system
- Blocked intake system
- Air leakage in the intake system
- Defective engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check the intake and exhaust systems for blockages
- 2Check the intake system for air leakage, and the inside of the throttle housing for contamination. A dirty housing reduces airflow to the engine
- 3If the fault remains after these checks, a workshop should program or replace the engine control module if the fault is permanent
Symptoms you may notice4
- Low maximum engine speed
- Cruise control does not work at all
- Uneven idle
- Malfunction indicator lamp lit
What the fault can affect1
- Engine speed and torque are limited to a calculated reasonable value
