What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module's monitoring reads the signals from the throttle position sensor differently from the normal engine control functions, which see the values as outside their minimum or maximum limits. The code is then set, and engine speed and torque are limited.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool: compare the throttle position value in live data with the pedal movement, and check that the two go together
- 2Clear the code and test drive the car. If it returns, or the fault is permanent, a workshop must replace the engine control module

- Maximum engine speed is low
- Cruise control does not work at all
- Engine runs unevenly at idle
- Malfunction indicator lamp lit
