What does this fault code mean?
The ECM has registered an internal fault in one of its monitoring functions. The code is normally set together with another code concerning those monitoring functions.
Possible causes
- A second code for the internal monitoring is stored in the module
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Fix first the other fault codes that concern the engine control module's internal monitoring
- 2Clear the code and test drive the car to see whether it returns
- 3For a permanent fault the engine control module is replaced, which a workshop does
Symptoms you may notice2
- Low power output and lack of power while driving
- Uneven idle
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
