What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent, meaning it has occurred at some point but may not be present now. The engine control module (ECM) registered an internal fault on an earlier occasion, but has since established that the fault is no longer present.
Possible causes
- Defective engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and test drive the car. If the fault is no longer present, there is nothing more to fix for now
- 2If the code returns, a workshop should decide whether the engine control module needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice4
- Maximum engine speed is low
- Cruise control does not work at all
- Uneven idle
- Malfunction indicator lamp lit
What the fault can affect1
- Engine speed and torque are limited to a calculated reasonable value
