What does this fault code mean?
The code comes from the engine control module's built-in monitoring of its internal voltage references. If any of them gives a fault, the code is set, which means the fault lies in the module. The malfunction indicator lamp lights when the fault is registered.
Possible causes
- The engine control module is damaged
What you can do
- 1After clearing, start the car and see whether the malfunction indicator lamp comes on again
- 2Check that the module connectors are fully seated and free from oxidation
- 3If the fault returns, the module is damaged and should be replaced; have a workshop do this
Symptoms you may notice1
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lights
