What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module monitors its own internal voltage references. When it registers a fault in any of them, this code is set and the malfunction indicator lamp comes on. The fault is then inside the engine control module rather than in an external sensor.
Possible causes
- The engine control module has been damaged
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and start the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the module connectors are fully seated and free from oxidation
- 3If the code returns, the module is damaged and should be replaced by a workshop
Symptoms you may notice1
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is on
