What does this fault code mean?
This is an event-controlled code that signals the car has been involved in a collision. The engine control module registers this internally from signals sent by the central electronic module (CEM). The code is information rather than a sign of a fault in the engine control module, but it must be cleared like any other code.
Possible causes
- The code does not come from any fault that requires repair
What you can do
- 1This is an event code that flags a collision and must be cleared like a normal fault code, even though no fault-tracing is done
- 2Read the code and clear it once you have noted it; it needs no fault-tracing
- 3If the car has been in a collision and the airbags or belt systems have been triggered, have a workshop check the airbag system; do not work on it yourself
Symptoms you may notice3
- Engine is hard to start
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on
- Message in the information display
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
