What does this fault code mean?
This is a consequential fault code: it can be set when the CAN network has a fault, and also as a result of other fault codes. The fault therefore lies in the CAN network or in the codes that cause this one, and those should be dealt with first. The cruise control does not work for as long as the fault is present.
Possible causes
- A fault in the CAN network
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the engine control module and deal first with the other codes, because this code is a consequential fault
- 2Check the CAN network connectors and wiring for open circuits and chafing, since a CAN fault is a possible cause
- 3Clear the code only after the root fault has been remedied, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 4This code is an information code that never appears alone, so always fault-trace from another fault code
Symptoms you may notice1
- Cruise control does not work
