What does this fault code mean?
The engine has been running on a mixture that is too rich while the fuel shut-off was active, and the engine control module treats this as a fault. The fault may lie in the fuel rail, its wiring or the shut-off valve. Gas operation is blocked while the fault is present.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connector to the fuel rail
- Defective relay in the relay and fuse centre
- Open circuit in the wiring
- Defective fuel rail
- Defective deceleration fuel cut-off valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code with the ignition on and check whether it is active
- 2Check the connectors to the fuel rail and the shut-off valve for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Check the wiring for open circuits and chafing; if anything is loose, secure it and read the code again
- 4If the connectors and wiring are sound, the fuel rail, the relay or the shut-off valve is at fault; have a workshop check them
