What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named a fault in the supervision software, it is an event-controlled information code that records a collision. The engine control module registers internally whether the car has been in a crash, and the code is set when the central electronic module (CEM) reports that a collision has taken place. The code therefore does not indicate a fault in the engine control module.
Possible causes
- The code comes from information about a crash, not from a fault that must be repaired
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code as a normal code once you have read it; it needs no fault-tracing
- 2If airbags have deployed or the car has been in a collision, have a workshop check the supplemental restraint system
- 3The restraint system is safety-critical; do not work on it yourself
